Handmade ceramics by
Gillian Martin
My ceramics blend form and technique, with each piece carefully handcrafted and featuring graceful curves that invite exploration. I use the traditional technique of terra sigillata, adding detailed stripes that highlight the shapes. The firing process in both gas or electric kilns adds unique colours and textures, creating a dynamic interaction between material and fire. This process connects my work to the rich history of pottery.
I acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which I have the privilege to live and work. I pay respect to their Elders, past and present, and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples deep spiritual and historical connection to land.
